Baduel was one of Chávez’s initial circle, he was even responsible for his restitution to power after the events of April 2002, but he was also key in the electoral defeat that Chávez suffered in 2007 when he tried to approve a socialist constitution. He then he ended up in jail. At the time he was accused of conspiracy to depose Maduro and awaited trial for more than two years.

Baduel fue del círculo inicial de Chávez, incluso fue responsable de su restitución en el poder luego de los sucesos de abril de 2002, pero también fue clave en la derrota electoral que sufrió Chávez en 2007 cuando trató de aprobar una constitución socialista. Luego terminó en la cárcel. Al momento estaba acusado de conspiración para deponer a Maduro y esperaba juicio desde más de dos años.
La OACDH recordó en su twit que se debe “prestar atención médica para todos los detenidos, que se consideren medidas alternativas a la detención y se liberen aquellos en detención arbitraria”
