Adolfo Baduel, son of General Raúl Isaías Baduel, was detained in an operation in Chuao, Aragua state. General Baduel, a member of Hugo Chávez’s initial sworn officers, who was a key player in his reinstatement to the presidency during the events of April 2002 and his defense minister is currently another political prisoner.
In this small coastal tourist town, eight people were captured, including Americans, in an alleged raid attempt according to official statements.
