El aspirante deberá cumplir varios pasos:
- Presentar una solicitud vía online.
- Debe contar con un patrocinante u organización que lo apoye. El patrocinante debe tener estatus legal en el país y demostrar que puede prestarle apoyo financiero y de otro tipo.
- El migrante debe ingresar por vía aérea.
- Someterse a una evaluación de seguridad nacional y seguridad pública, a través de controles biométricos y biográficos.
- Contar con un esquema de vacunación completa de Covid-19 avalado por la Organización Mundial de la Salud y cumplir con otros requisitos de salud.
- Los aspirantes podrán solicitar empleo durante su trámite migratorio.
Quienes intenten ingresar ilegalmente por la frontera de México serán deportados y perderán la posibilidad de ser candidatos al programa. Además no serán elegibles quienes hayan sido expulsados de los Estados Unidos en los últimos cinco años, los que tengan una residencia permanente en otro país, estatus de refugiados o doble nacionalidad y quienes hayan ingresado ilegalmente a Panamá o México luego de la fecha del anuncio. Process for Venezuelans
On Oct. 12, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced a safe and lawful way for qualifying Venezuelans with supporters to travel by air to the United States, temporarily reside in the United States, and apply for work authorization.
To be eligible, Venezuelans must:
- Have a supporter in the United States who will provide financial and other support;
- Pass rigorous biometric and biographic national security and public safety screening and vetting; and
- Complete vaccinations and other public health requirements.
Venezuelans are ineligible if they have:
- Been ordered removed from the United States in the previous five years;
- Crossed without authorization between ports of entry after the date of this announcement;
- Irregularly entered Mexico or Panama after the date of this announcement, or are a permanent resident or dual national of any country other than Venezuela, or currently hold refugee status in any country; or
- Not completed vaccinations and other public health requirements.
