On July 28th 2021, a Venezuelan weightlifter made history in the Olympics 2020 in Tokyo, winning a silver medal for his country. Julio Ruben Mayora Pernia is a 24-year-old weightlifter born on September 2nd, 1996 in Venezuela. Before participating in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Julio Mayora took part in the 2018 World Weightlifting Championships Men’s 67kg, winning a bronze medal with a 322 kg total. By Joana Ndoka.
