During the first three months of this year, 472 alleged extrajudicial executions were registered by the State security forces and bodies, according to the Venezuelan NGO Provea. This NGO together with the Gumilla Center have been following up on this issue. Their report indicates that there were 228 executions in January, including 23 in the populous La Vega neighborhood (Caracas).
