A group of Venezuelan researchers dedicated to the study and conservation of the only native bear in South America, the Frontino, also known as Jukumari, are hopeful to discover two cubs of this species in the Andean region of Venezuela, a country in which the ‘Tremarctos ornatus’ —how is it known because of its scientific name – it is in danger of extinction.
