The Organization of American States (OAS) approved a resolution to condemn the decisions of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) of Venezuela that appointed the members of the National Electoral Council (CNE), a decision that corresponds by law to the National Assembly, the only power controlled by the opposition. Additionally, the TSJ decided to suspend the directives of two of the most important opposition parties to replace them with leaders accused of being related to the government of Nicolás Maduro.
The decisions of the TSJ would ensure an electoral victory for the regime in the parliamentary elections to be held this year, as established by the constitution.
The European Union, the United States, the International Contact Group and the Lima Group have also rejected these TSJ decisions
