We currently face multiple humanitarian emergencies across environments under sanctions ranging from Venezuela to Iran and North Korea. Lifting sanctions in these jurisdictions is unlikely to happen any time soon; the human rights of local populations could be further endangered, and it would have a detrimental impact on global security.
