ICC prosecutor rejects Venezuela deferral request, intends to resume investigation

The prosecutor has notified the Pre-Trial Chamber of the deferral request and conveyed his intention to apply to resume his investigation shortly. In the notification, he stated that the deferral request does not contain any new information or supporting material that would alter his original assessment of the situation in the country. The Pre-Trial Chamber will decide upon the procedure to be followed once the prosecutor submits his application.
